Worldwide Satter Flowers B.V. (WSF) is the world's largest group of chrysanthemum growers. Since its establishment in 1960, WSF has experienced steady growth, which is expected to continue in the coming years. At premises located at Zaltbommel (The Netherlands) and surroundings, approximately 100 motivated employees contribute to the growth and delivery of quality chrysanthemums on a daily basis.
WSF has its own cutting company called "Arusha-Cutting", which is situated in Arusha, Tanzania. The cutting company has an area of 3 hectares of mother plants. These mother plants provide 120 million cuttings annually. Arusha-Cutting employs 300 people.
WSF disposes of an own transporting company, operating under the name "H. Satter & Zn.". The transportation company takes care of high quality cooled transportation, both nationally and internationally.
As WSF has organised an important part of the chrysanthemum supply chain within its own enterprise (cutting, growing, exporting, distributing), WSF is able to supply quickly, flexibly, and against competitive conditions. Besides, WSF has the size to offer a multitude of varieties in any required quantity throughout the year.
Production
WSF consists of nine growing locations, which collectively dispose of a total area of 43 hectares of glasshouses. This capacity is being expanded with approximately 6 hectares annually.
All glasshouses are equipped with the latest production technologies including fully automated climate control and assimilation light up to 8,000 lux. Own electricity generators are producing the energy for assimilation light. These modern technologies offer the possibility to very efficiently produce products of high quality. WSF continually researches possibilities to further optimise and automate the production process.
WSF closely cooperates with breeders, packers (producers of bouquets) and retail chains (especially super market chains) in order to discuss and determine assortments, sales presentation and sales promotion.
